Change from Orange to EE Mis sold mobile phone contract

hi i got my sony experia sp june / july last year and have seen  that i have not been getting 4g coverage even when you state on the map i have 4g when i phoned phones4u the sales team said sorry cant help you this was september last year is this true because why would i buy if i could not use it ?
